Naxos Music Library

There are three ways to find the music you are looking for in Naxos Music Library:

1. Browsing

In the navigation tabs along the left side of the page, you will see options for “People," "Categories," and “Labels.” When you click on one of these options, you will then see listings of every item that qualifies for that option. For example, when you select “People,” you'll see an alphabetical list of every composer featured in NML, and you can also click the "Artists" tab to see a similar list of performers, conductors, and other creative artists. Once you find the composer, artist, category (Orchestral, Opera, Film & TV Music, etc.), or record label you need, clicking on it will then list every CD available in NML that falls under that selection.

2. Keyword Search

The Keyword Search box is located at the top of every page. Type a word or phrase in the box and click the “Search” icon, which appears as a magnifying glass. This is a good way to search for a specific album or repertoire title.

3. Advanced Search

Click the “Advanced Search” button in the top right corner of any page. You can use as few or as many fields as you like on this page. If you are not sure how to spell a composer or artist name, or are unsure what to put into any of the fields, just click the magnifying glass next to the box for complete alphabetical listings. Click the item you want, and it will fill in the field for you. Also, you can begin typing into a field, and after a few letters you will see a dropdown list of potential selections appear. After you have entered the desired criteria, click “Search.”

The results of any search will be a listing of individual albums, rather than individual tracks from those albums.  Included with each album title is the name of the composer(s), featured artists or ensembles, and the catalogue number. The results of a keyword search will also include an image of the album cover. To view the contents and listen to recordings from a specific album, simply click on the title in the results list.

If you browse by either Composer or Artist, after selecting a name from the alphabetical list, you can view lists of recordings by either the work or album title.  For well-known composers and artists, a brief biographical entry is included in addition to the recording lists.
