Reeves Library Research Awards

Submission checklist:

__ Application form, including 250-500 word introduction

__ Project or project link

__ Separate bibliography, if one is not already included in the project

__ Faculty recommendation

Application form

In order for a project to be considered, your completed application form must include a 250-500 word introduction to your research project. This introduction should briefly present the subject of your research and the project's presentation format; it should also discuss your experience with the research process for this project.

You may wish to discuss what methods you chose, how you adapted your research strategies as you progressed, how you evaluated your sources, and/or what you have learned about the research process. Please do not simply give a list of databases or other research tools; we are interested in how you engaged with the tools, not simply in which ones you chose.

STUDENT APPLICATION FORM (you will need to be logged into your SHU Google account to access this form)

Send us your project

Include a link to the project in the application form if it is hosted online (remember that links to locations on your own computer are inaccessible to other people), OR upload the file to https://www.dropbox.com/request/G1cbmdqyvMwxRg6RGCsv, whichever is applicable. Please remove your name from within the project itself, if possible (i.e., from any headers, introductory slides, etc.), but DO include your name in the file name (for example, snow.jon.RAentry.pptx).

If your project does not include a bibliography/references list/works cited list, you must create and submit one in addition to your research product. This should be uploaded to https://www.dropbox.com/request/G1cbmdqyvMwxRg6RGCsv. Please include your name in the file name (for example, snow.jon.RAbibliography.docx).

Getting faculty sponsorship

It is usually best to get your faculty recommendation from the instructor for whose class you did the project. If this is not possible, your advisor may submit the recommendation for your work.

The award committee does not contact faculty and ask them to recommend your work; you are responsible for contacting the instructor and requesting their recommendation.
