Results can be sorted using the drop down menu on the right of the results page.
The selections are relevance, date, most cited and most downloaded.
Searches can be limited by Article Type:
Abstract, Addendum Chapter, Announcement, Article Commentary, Bibliography, Books Received, Book Review, Brief Report, Calendar, Case Report, Collection, Correction Chapter, Discussion, Dissertation, Editorial, Erratum Chapter, In Brief, Index, Introduction, Letter, Meeting Report, News, Note, Obituary, Opinion, Oration, Product Review, Rapid Communication, Reply, Reprint, Research Article, Retraction Chapter, Review Article, Other, or Unknown Type. These will display in descending order according to the number of items found and will not display if the number is zero.
There are also limits for Year and Subject.
On the advanced search screen you can use Boolean operators to search all fields or select individual fields, using the drop-down menu. Additional rows can be added by clicking on the + sign before "Add Row"
You have the option of searching the entire database or only content that you can access online. You can also limit to open access titles only.
This database includes nearly 200 years, so you may also want to limit to a particular date range.
Browse a list of journals by selecting a discipline and/or subject. Use the A-Z option to filter to journals beginning with that letter. You can also add journals to your favorites or set up email alerts for new content by selecting the journal tick box and clicking the corresponding button.
