Welcome to this guide for the Social Teaching in Society assignment!
This guide will walk you through the process of completing your Social Teaching in Society assignment for the 8-week version of Faith, Religion, & Society. We will be introducing you to information sources about the topic you chose and will talk about how to organize the information and your thoughts about it. We will also cover some writing resources and help you to identify any points in your paper or presentation that may need a little extra work.
As we begin, think about what you have already learned in this course and through the essay assignments you've already done. We will be building on that foundation and preparing you for the other college-level research writing you will be doing throughout your time at Seton Hill.
Organization of the Guide
Each page of this guide will have “Previous” and “Next” links at the bottom to allow you to navigate forward and backward through the material and activities. Please start at the beginning and work through using the “Next” links. When you need to leave and come back to your work later, just check the gold bars on the left of the guide and click on the section where you left off.
NOTES:
Meet Your Librarian
My name is Kelly Clever, and I’m the librarian for the Humanities programs. I recently completed a master's degree through Seton Hill, so I know what it's like to take 8-week online classes as a working adult and parent! I’m available by email at clever@setonhill.edu, by phone at (724) 830-1174, and I’m also happy to meet with you via Zoom. Helping students with research is actually a lot of fun for me, so if you have a question, please reach out! You can schedule an online or in-person appointment with me by clicking here, or just drop by my office on the main level of the Learning Commons.
