Discovering & Accessing Tests

Some tests are published (often requiring payment to obtain) and some are unpublished (more likely to be free, but also usually harder to find). The Mental Measurements Yearbook is one tool in our print collection that can point you to existing tests.

Many tests and measurements tools are published in book compilations. The link below lists many of these books, along with an index of how many/which tests or surveys each book contains. There is also a link for each book to make it easier for you to request it through interlibrary loan.

You may be able to find some tests through a Google search. Others may be more difficult to find. When you have found information about a test you would like to use, you may need to contact the test's publisher or author(s) to get a copy.

Some test locating tools are located below in the "Online collections of psychological surveys" box. You can also discover information about psychological tests and find examples of research done using them by doing a specialized search in the PsycINFO or ERIC databases
