Writing Popular Fiction

A research and resources guide for students in the Writing Popular Fiction program.

Primary Sources

Primary sources such as autobiographies, diaries, personal correspondence, interviews, photographs, maps, and sound recordings can be great sources of background information and historical details, especially for writers whose novels are set in the past.  Primary sources can also be useful if you're interested in finding out more information about a particular author's life and work.
