Welcome to the Film and Video guide. Here you will find helpful information about the library's extensive DVD collection and streaming video subscription, as well as links to streaming video sites and film studies resources available in the library's collections and on the web.
Resources are arranged by topic and can be accessed by selecting from the tabs along the left side of the page.
Films are a great way to expose students to course topics and themes, and can provide an engaging subject for classroom discussions and writing assignments. In addition to popular feature films, Reeves Memorial Library offers documentaries and educational films on a wide range of topics.
Foreign films can be an effective tool for learning about other cultures, and are particularly helpful for language studies courses and the numerous Global Perspectives courses that are offered at Seton Hill University. Reeves Memorial Library's DVD collection includes hundreds of contemporary and classic foreign films from around the world.
Looking for a film to show in your class? Check the library's online catalog for your topic, browse the DVD shelves in the O'Hara Room on the ground floor of the Learning Commons, or ask a librarian for a suggestion. You may also consider checking the various free streaming sites listed under the "Web Resources" tab in this guide.
Check out the latest film-related posts on the Reeves Memorial Library blog, including information about each month's DVD display collection, and our former bi-weekly movie recommendation series Watch This.
