Reeves Memorial Library offers you a great many resources which we purchase.   However, there are many quality resources which are "Open Access."  These are freely available online, but are often a little more difficult to use.   You must also take more care in selecting these resources to be sure that they are suitable for scholarly research.  This guide will provide search strategies as well as lists of reputable Open Access items that have been identified by librarians or faculty members.

What is Open Access?

Open access (OA) means free access to information and unrestricted use of electronic resources for everyone. Any kind of digital content can be OA, from texts and data to software, audio, video, and multi-media. While most of these are related to text only, a growing number are integrating text with images, data, and executable code. OA can also apply to non-scholarly content, like music, movies, and novels.
