Artstor

This guide will help you find, organize, and export images from the Artstor Digital Library, which contains nearly two million images in the arts, architecture, humanities, and sciences.

Exporting to PowerPoint

Image groups can be exported easily to PowerPoint to create simple presentations.  Once you have opened an image group, go to Tools in the navigation menu at the top of the page and select Export image group to PowerPoint, or simply click on the Export image group to PowerPoint button () to the top right of the image group thumbnails.  Follow the prompts to complete the export process.

Each image will appear on its own slide, with the image data in the notes field below each slide. As long as you are connected to the Internet when in presentation mode, each image will also be hyperlinked to take you directly to the original image in the Image Viewer, allowing you to zoom, pan and rotate.

Note: You must have PowerPoint 2007 or later to use the file.

For more detailed information about exporting an image group to PowerPoint, please visit the Artstor Support site or watch the video below.

Using Artstor's Presentation Tool: Offline Image Viewer (OIV)

As an alternative to PowerPoint and Keynote, Artstor offers its own presentation software, the Offline Image Viewer (OIV), which allows users to download much larger images from the Digital Library and create presentations that feature side-by-side comparisons, zooming and panning, and customized text on the slides.  The OIV can be dowloaded by any Artstor user, allowing for reliable presentation of both Artstor images and local content without being connected to the Internet.
