D&B Hoovers

The landing page when you first log into D&B Hoovers is the Desktop. From this page, you can begin searching for information on companies, contacts, industries, news, and more, or you can begin building a customized list.

You can search for information using either the Search bar in the upper right corner or any of the six Tiles in the center of the page.

If you are searching for information about a specific company, person, or industry, it's simplest to use the Search bar in the upper right corner. The default setting for this search bar is a Company search, but you can use the drop-down menu to choose another option, such as Contacts, SEC Filings, Industries, etc.

The Tiles in the center of the page will take you to the "Search & Build a List" screen, where you can build customized lists based on a wide range of search filters. This search option is more useful for broader searches where you don't initially have a specific company, person, or industry in mind. PLEASE NOTE: Seton Hill's subscription to D&B Hoovers does not include some of the personalized features that are shown on the Desktop interface and in the resource's built-in tutorial videos, which are available under the D&B Hoovers Help icon (the question mark icon in the upper right corner).

The following features and tools are NOT available with our subscription:

• Saving and/or printing lists created using the "Search & Build a List" feature
• Pinning items to the tiles to personalize the Desktop for later user sessions (items can be pinned during a single user session, but they will not be saved there for the next time that user logs in)
• Access to the "Labs" tool (marked by the flask icon in the upper right corner)

Despite these limitations, D&B Hoovers is still a great resource for company and industry information, with many customizable search features, and our subscription still allows you to create OneStop company reports which can be printed or saved as PDFs.
